Cabinet move to encourage foreign investment

The Cabinet at its weekly meeting decided to amend certain provisions of the law No/20/2008 the share of non-Qatari investors profit by Qatar public limited liability companies to exempt from the income tax.

The amendment aims to control the flow of foreign capital in the Qatari markets.

The Cabinet also approved a draft law regulating Hajj and ummrah and submitted to the Advisory Board.

The draft law provides for the safety and well-being of the pilgrims, ensuring a hassle-free pilgrimage. The design also provides for the formation of Qatar (Hajj) pilgrimage mission.

It also approved a proposal to set the power rate for companies registered with the Ministry of environment on less than cost, to support and develop the sector.

The Cabinet also approved a draft law on aquaculture farming, a MoU for health with Bulgaria endorsed and approved a draft Convention on security cooperation between Qatar and Jordan.
