Freed Swiss hostage thanks Qatar

SYLVIA ABRAHAT, a 33-year-old Swiss language teacher, has thanked Qatar for its efforts in securing her release, after a year-long Al Qaeda captivity in Yemen. Ralph Hiknr of the Swiss Foreign Ministry, said that Qatar played a key role in getting the Swiss citizen freed, pointing out that, for several months, Qatar engaged in negotiations with the abductors without paying any ransom.
