QATARI-Indian trade increased from $ 1.2 billion in 2005 to $ 14 billion in 2012. Although the Indian exports to Qatar posted an increase of very little during this period, there was a huge jump in exports of Qatar to India. However, a senior official of the Indian Embassy in Qatar said there is huge room for Indian traders in the Qatari market to this lack of balance.
Sasi Kumar, Deputy Head of mission at the Indian Embassy in Qatar, was a meeting between members of a trade delegation from the Indian and their Qatari counterparts at the Chamber of Qatar, in Doha, on Wednesday.
Qatar room Director-General Remy Rowhani also urged the Indian colleagues to have a look at the different possibilities that Qatar can offer.
The 12-Member Indian delegation, under the banner of Capexil, is in Doha business opportunities with face-to-face talks with their Qatari counterparts.
