DOHA the Supreme Council of health (SCH) plans to nine more hospitals and two attachments for diagnosis, research and treatment, in addition to 18 primary medical centers to open in the coming months. The plans were revealed in the annual report of the SCH released on Tuesday.
Under the new hospitals on the anvil is the new women's Hospital, a hospital for simple surgical procedures, one for communicable diseases, one for diagnosis and treatment, a major accident and the Neurological Institute of Sciences.
Unveiling the report, Minister of public health and SCH Secretary-General HE Abdullah bin Khalid al Qahtani said: "plans are underway to speed up the ongoing work in accordance with the national health strategy for 2011-2016." The report pointed to a rapid increase in the health care budget in 2012, noting that the budget for 2012-2013 with 47 percent higher than the previous year. It emphasizes on the State commitment to health care.
