Qatar to invest 30 billion on infrastructure in 5 to 7 years, says official Ashghal

The public works authority (Ashghal) DOHA will invest $ 30 billion in building and infrastructure projects over the next five to seven years, said an official Ashghal on Tuesday.

Speaking at a meeting organized by Qatar French Business Club (QFBC) in Doha, said the Manager of Drainage projects and Assistant Manager of highways projects of Ashghal Nasser Ghaith al Kwari that the projects include major road and drainage projects "the major projects be achieved during the next few years include the crossway, who left Hamad International Airport to West Bay. Ashghal is in the final phase of the negotiations on the agreement with the designer. The project is expected to complete by 2020 ", said al Kwari.

Kwari added, "the upcoming projects also include Lusail Expressway, the drainage and sewerage projects named Inner Doha Re-wastewater implementation strategy (IDRIS), 900 km roads, 216 roads and 240 important intersections." A total of 120 buildings must be built by Ashghal in the next couple of years.

In addition, the projects include construction of no less than five years Ashghal 18 hospitals, 14 educational institutions, 28 municipality buildings and 15 religious endowment projects.

The event was attended by over 70 participants, including QFBC members and representatives of other organizations.
