' Nurses with false certificates are prohibited in GCC '

Speaking at a discussion hosted by the University of Calgary-Qatar (UCQ) Dr. Nabila said: "the new, reliable verification process was put in place after cases of nurses faking their documents detected. Under the new procedure, before checking the certificates of an applicant, the credentials of the organization that we first check the certificates issued. We make sure that the organizations are recognized and existing. " She added: "if one is found guilty of forging certificates, the person case is brought to the attention of the Supreme Council of the health (SCH) immediately, which in turn informs the GCC authorities of the findings on the creditors".

SCH is the only regulatory body in Qatar that registers and issue licenses to the health practitioners in both public and private health care.

She added, "at this time, HMC has its own process of verification and credentialing.

HMC has to follow In the near future the licensing system in SCH. For now we try to look at the primary source of certification and the license because we do not have the Board of Directors here yet. " According to the specialist, in the absence of a regulatory board or Council for nursing in Qatar, SCH submitted a proposal to the Government to the Qatari Council for health workers in Qatar, including medical board, nursing board, allied health professions and Pharmacy Council Board of Directors.
