DFI workshop to local filmmakers skills

DOHA DOHA Film Institute (DFI), Qatar's independent cultural organization that brings the country film initiatives under one umbrella, a four-day Trans media Workshop from 15 April will hold. The workshop is part of a series organized by DFI on TransMedia in three sets that will close on 9 June
The event will participants create their own ' TransMedia ' projects by providing insight into the ' Storyworld ', and gradually strengthen their skills to master cross-platform stories.

The Workshop is aimed at strengthening local talent, opening doors for innovative filmmaking techniques and story-telling down the latest and emerging platforms.

The landscape of filmmaking is evolving rapidly with the introduction of new media that offer the opportunity for creative professionals to tell compelling stories via different technological platforms.

The second workshop will be held between May 2 and may 4, in which participants will expand their logline and the scope of the experience of the audiences role stress. Finally, the third workshop will be held from 7 June to 9 June where individuals will examine whether their storyworld in real time can be told.

The workshops will be accompanied by Julian McCrea, founder of Portal Entertainment, a platform-independent production company, and Mike Jones, an awardwinning writer and producer of the media.

Ali Ali Mahdi, the Manager of Golf Film Development, among DFI's Film financing arm, said: "If the media to capture and tell stories evolve, it is important that filmmakers and film lovers understand and adopt the newer platforms. By the ' TransMedia Workshop series ' we filmmakers connect with the innovative channels developed by their generation, and offer them the opportunity to have their own stories to a wider audience. "
