Qatargas, QMA, British Council in pact to sponsor Qatar – UK 2013

QATARGAS, Qatar museums authority (QMA) DOHA and British Council on Wednesday an agreement whereby a Platinum Sponsor of the Qatar Qatargas-UK initiative aimed at 2013 forging new partnerships between Qatar and the United Kingdom in the field of art, culture, education, sports and science will be signed.

The agreement was signed by Ghanim al Kwari, chief operating officer (Administration), Qatargas; Phil Lawrie, chief commercial officer, Qatar museums authority, and Martin Hope, Director of British Council.

Addressing a press conference after the signing ceremony, said Kwari: "We are very excited to be part of this important initiative that was carried out by Qatar museums authority in collaboration with the British Council to strengthen the cultural ties between the two countries and help build new bridges for increased cultural exchange and mutual understanding.

Our support for this initiative comes as part of our corporate social responsibility program that we show our commitment that for the promotion of education, art, culture, community development and sports.

"Qatargas has a strong relationship with the United Kingdom as an important customer for us.

At present we deliver to nearly 20 percent of British gas needs and this volume is set to grow in the coming years.

Our association with this initiative gives us a chance to build on that relationship by adding cultural, educational and artistic sides. " QMA represent, Lawrie said: "participation in cultural dialogue and to build bridges between Nations Educational programmes is a core objective of the QMA since its inception. Not only is this a tremendously exciting year of a cultural perspective, this cultural partnership is also moving closer to achieving his Qatar National Vision 2030 by triggering of an international exchange of ideas.

The Mission of Qatar-UK 2013 will cultivate mutual recognition, understanding and appreciation of Qatar and British cultures in both countries throughout the year by events that entertain and educate. " Hope said: "We are grateful for the support of Qatar-Qatargas UK 2013, which to stronger long-term partnerships between Qatari and UK organisations in a number of areas relevant Qatar National Vision 2030: the arts, education, science and sport contribute will. Festivals such as this depends on sponsors for their success, and Qatargas, with its strong ties to the United Kingdom, is a natural partner with whom we are excited to work. " Qatar-UK 2013 is a year of events to celebrate and to develop the partnership between Qatar and the United Kingdom.
