DOHA Business Department of the Ministry of consumer protection and trade action against a store selling fake engine oil is started. The shop was caught filling containers from a well-known oil company with oil of unknown make.

The scam came to light during a periodic inspection by the Department of consumer protection.

Action is initiated against the store, for violating article 7 of law No. 8, 2008.

The law States that state clearly on its cover or packaging the merchandise type, nature, ingredients and all relevant data each provider, offers merchandise for traffic, is mandatory.

If the use of those goods this is a hazard, the provider can warn about the obvious. The law also prohibits sale of goods with misleading or incorrect information and the use of misleading/wrong data.

The Department action is in line with its efforts to protect consumers and prevent faulty and counterfeit goods on the market.

Youssef Saad al Suwaidi head of the Department of commercial fraud said that these campaigns are aimed at the protection of consumers right to original goods.
