But for more than 300 Filipino photography enthusiasts based in Doha, ' warp ' refers to them-a group of radical photographers who determine their own virtue of art through unconventional style and out-of-the-box practice of photography.

"The Web Alliance of radical photographers (deviation) is the one and only radical group (between the groups of photography in Qatar)," said Louie Olivar, one of its members. "As opposed to a normal organization, WARP does not have a number of officers as the Group believes in equal priority to all its members. WARP members are ' warping ' warping ' from the from the standards and rules. We wanted our skills and knowledge in photography share with aspiring photographers and start their journey in photography to help, "he added.

WARP, formed in July 2009, is focused on a place where SLR photography enthusiasts can hone their skills through continuous share-learn cycle. Although a majority of their members, the Group also has a handful of Pinoys are photography enthusiasts from Indonesia, India, Malaysia and Mexico.

True to its name, the Group has earned a distinction in organizing special events that their members to a large extent. One is the so-called ' Shoot to kill ' that an annual activities of DISTORTION during the Eid Al Adha holiday.

"The idea is to wake up in the morning, gear, grab your snacks and lunch and proceed to the meeting place. We drive in a convoy and stop by different locations across the country. It's an adventure and the ability to explore Qatar's scenic spots from morning until early evening is those from breakfast to dinner. We shoot (pictures) to exhaust our batteries. The idea is to shoot until you feel that you don't want to shoot more in the coming weeks.

Shooting and socialise you can add up to. Shoot till you have the physical and mental energy to do that. Shoot until you drop. That's what shooting to death is all about, "said Louie.

REDUX is another interesting event of WARP where six to eight members are grouped. A theme, ranging from costumes to models, is given to the political groups to work on. Group effort and creativity are the keys that one of the groups gloss.

Not surprisingly, WARP is the only group of photography in Qatar which has a large number of members take part each year in the Scott Kelby worldwide Photowalk, the largest social photography event in the world. In the 2011 edition of the League was one of the four Filipinos who made it to the top 10 honorable mentions of the event made a WARP-member.
