Focus on technical training on global innovators meet

DOHA experts stressed the importance of technical and vocational education and training in the development of the world on the global innovators Conference, which came to an end in Doha on Sunday.

The meet was organized by the College of the North Atlantic in Qatar Qatar Petroleum (QP) (CNAQ), and International Centre for technical and vocational education and training (UNESCO-UNEVOC).

Speaking at a press conference on Sunday, CNAQ President Dr Ken MacLeod said, "the Conference embodies the CNAQ contribution to technical and vocational training in Qatar and has played the role of the college in the actualization of the goals of the Qatar National Vision 2030 highlyskilled technical workers by more than 3,000 graduating.

"The Conference has come at a perfect time because it coincides with national discussions on technical and vocational education and training (TVET) in Qatar precipitated by the strategy of education and training systems sector of the High Council of education." QP Assistant Manager for vocational training learn Fatima Mohamed al Ali underlines the CNAQ contribute to the country's energy sector.

She said: "students of all oil and gas industry in Qatar have been trained in technical streams on CNAQ, which are the main educational provider QP and the industry." The global innovators Conference, which took place on the Qatar National Convention Centre (QNCC), highlighting the latest research and technology in technical and vocational education and training and culminated in a ' think tank ' session for TVET leaders in Qatar.

The three-day Conference discussed various topics, including education and learning in technical education, support of pupils in technical institutions, leadership and innovation in technical education, applied research in technical institutions and guidance in the area of technical education.

The Conference around 650 participants from 42 countries brought together. It was the first international TVET meeting in Qatar and the region.

Other presentations during the Conference included "helping lifelong Palestinian refugees via Vocational Training ', which was supplied by Samar el Yassir from Lebanon, and ' improving the quality of the teacher: Empowering teachers to deliver better education in Indonesia ', delivered by Djamaludin Ancok and Neila R from Indonesia. Both sessions were presented under the auspices of the UNESCO-UNEVOC and UNESCO Doha office.

An exhibition, which featured local and international organisations ran next to the Conference.

Exhibitors included Qatar Petroleum, UNESCO-UNEVOC, Qscience, College of the North Atlantic-Qatar, EduTech, BIPA, SMI, Technoledgie, Emerson test & measurement Mgt process solutions, Medical, Qatar National Research Fund for Aamal, Hayagriva Software (Photolity), Qatar Qatar ACP, Pearson Publishing, innovation and Core education.

As part of the celebration of CNAQ ' A Decade of Excellence ', its tenth anniversary, recognized the college faculty, students, business partners and supporters behind her success.
